Day 5 & 6 / South Caribbean of Costa Rica

Cassie- Hi, everyone, yesterday is an easy day, but I still really tired.  We came to the swing in the morning, unfortunately, I didn’t enough brave for trying it, however, most people did it. Then, we couldn’t raft because of the weather, which is extremely disappointed me. We drove down and went to a town. In the afternoon, we had beach which is fun and comfortable. The sea is very beautiful, I walked around and look at my classmates. I feel peaceful and satisfied.

Jersey- Hey guys! Yesterday was one of the most relaxing and easy days we have had so far. We woke up, ate a delicious breakfast, and hiked straight to the Tarzan Swing. After that, we packed up the rest of our stuff from our rooms and headed out on the back of a pickup truck to our bus. Once we were on the bus we made our way to a beach about 5 minutes away from Almonds and Corals. We bought some handmade bracelets and necklaces that we had on the beach, and then right after jumped into the warm waters. We then headed back on the bus to Almonds and Corals for dinner!

Jack- Yesterday we were not able to white water raft, however in the morning we were able to Tarzan swing. We drove to a beach near where we were staying and had beach time there. We had beach time and arrived at almonds and coral which is a very nice hotel. I am having a great time!

Ayana- Yesterday we didn’t get to go white water rafting because of the rain so instead we took a long bus ride to the place we would go next. On the way there we stopped at two places. We stopped at the place where Christopher Columbus found Costa Rica, and we stopped at this really nice beach. There where cute dogs, the perfect water, and coconuts. Even though we didn’t get to raft yesterday was still fun.

Owen – Yesterday was pretty boring for me, because I was feeling sick and decided it would be best to skip the Tarzan swing. We drove to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica and went to a beach where I bought some handmade things. Now we are at almonds and corals which is very nice and relaxing.

Gavin-

Because it rained the rafting did not happen yesterday. I was sad but once we came to the beach everything was good again. The water is clear and warm and we even split open a coconut. I took some really good pictures and am existed for the rest of the trip and surfing.

DAY 6-Animal Refuge & Surfing

Eli- Yesterday some plans where changed because of the rain so we could not go snorkeling. It was fine because we went to a cool rescue center. We also went surfing that was really fun we swam to.

William- Yesterday we were planning to go snorkeling but the rain stopped us so instead we went to a jaguar rescue center and saw monkeys, wildcats and sloths.  After that we went to the beach to surf. This was my first time surfing but I really enjoyed it.  The feeling while I’m on top of the wave was amazing.

Gavin –

Yesterday went to such a cool rescue center in the morning and saw some amazing animals. The place that we went to had lots of sloths and monkeys. Then we went surfing. It was so fun. The waves were not that big but I surfed all the way to the shore so many times. It was such a cool feeling.

Jack- Yesterday snorkeling was cancelled. However we still had a good time by going to the animal rescue center. After that we had a carribian lunch and surfing lessons. We then went into town and had dinner there.

Angelique- Even though we didn’t get to go snorkeling yesterday was still really great. We went to an animal refuge center and saw really cool animals and learned their stories. I saw animals I’ve never seen before angot licked by a deer.  After that we ate and I finally had good Wi-Fi, and I learned to surf. Surfing was one of the coolest experiences and I was so happy when I made it all the way to the beach. After that the night was relaxing and I got some stuff for my father. I’m excited for the next few days.

Jersey-Yesterday the plan was to wake up, eat breakfast and head out on the bus to go snorkeling. But instead it rained for the majority of the morning, canceling our plans to snorkel. The teachers then rearranged our schedule and brought us to the Jaguar Rescue Center, where we got to see sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, and deer. After that we ate lunch and went surfing a a beautiful beach and had lots of fun. Now were finishing up breakfast and about to leave to our new destination, La Fortuna.

Ayana- Yesterday was really fun. The first thing we did was goo to an animal rescue center where we saw a bunch of cool animals like sloths, monkeys, ocelots, deer, big birds, and even a crocodile. Then after lunch we when surfing! This was my first time surfing so I was really excited to try it out, Let me tell you its harder than it looks. After a few times of not getting it I almost gave up but once I got it I didn’t want to stop. After everyone took a shower we got back on the bus to go souvenir shopping. There were some really pretty things there, but I won’t get into that because most of those things I bought for my parents.

Morgan- Yesterday we were supposed to go snorkeling, but due to the whether we couldn’t. Instead of snorkeling we went to an animal rescue center. I loved the sloths so much, but we couldn’t pet them. After that we went to lunch in the town for a bit. Then we went surfing. I fell in the first four times, but eventually I got up. It was so cool. Finally, we went into town for a bit to shop, and have dinner. I tried looking for a tapestry for the new house, but most were expensive so I didn’t get anything.

Tessa- Yesterday our plans had to change a little due to weather. Instead of snorkeling we went to an animal rescue center. We saw different animals like baby sloths, monkeys, and some interesting birds. In the afternoon we went surfing , which was very fun. I had been surfing before, but it was fun for me to see the other kids go too. After surfing we went back to the hotel and then went to walk around a little and shop at the town. Even though the only thing I got was a bracelet for one of my friends it was cool seeing the other homemade jewelry.

Owen – Yesterday we went an animal rescue center, where there were lots of different snakes, monkeys, and cute sloths. After that we went surfing, and I think I did really good for my first time. Then we went to different stores across town and went to bed. I had a really good birthday yesterday! Today though, jack almost killed a cat by giving it chemical water.

Charlotte- Yesterday we woke up and it was raining so we could not go snorkeling so instead we went to a rescue center. At first I wasn’t sure about how I felt about this because I didn’t like supporting animals being held in captivity but I soon learned how amazing it was and that the rescue center had all good intensions. There where mostly volunteers that worked there (so they didn’t get paid, and the money that they made from the tours went to helping the animals), all of the animals where rescued, they always released the animals as soon as they where mentally and physically ok (and when they got an approval by the government to be release the animal), the sanctuaries where very spacious, they gave animals that needed affection affection (ex: Monkeys), they didn’t show animals that they didn’t want to get use to seeing humans so they could be released soon, and they always prioritized the animals. After we ate lunch we went to do a little surf lesson. It was fun but the waves where very little J, but I still had fun! But one of my highlights from the surfing was meeting my Best friend Jason! He was so fun and nice and he always helped me find a decent size wave. Jason even let me use his machete to TRY to cut open a coconut (I failed and him and his friend laughed at me (lol)). Before I left the Beach me and Jason made a hand shake. After that he rode off on his bike and did a big wheelie in the middle of the rode. I’m going to  miss JasonL. Love you Mom, Dad, Haven, Grace, Lila, Sammy.

Abby- Yesterday we were supposed to go snorkeling and surfing but because it was raining the only thing we got to do was surf. Instead of going snorkeling we went to an animal reserve and saw animals like sloths, and different types of monkeys. Later in the day we went to surf, and although it was very frustrating for me it was still fun. After surfing we walked around the town a little bit and I got some bracelets and saw some cool stuff. Today we’re going to another hotel and the ride is super long. On the way there’s supposed to be a “surprise” though. I’m not looking forward to going home even though I miss my family.
